You may see something different about our tickets this year. We have made some changes to our Rules to help improve how we record our Members.
You may not realise, but if you are over 18 and live in St Saviour, St Pierre du Bois, or Torteval you can be a Member of the Society.
At the 2026 AGM we made some important changes to our Rules and this included how someone becomes a Member of the West United Agricultural & Horticultural Society (WUA&HS) and you will need to complete a form to confirm your Membership.
You might be wondering why we decided to do this….we needed to find a way to properly record who our Members are. Some of you may remember that our Committee Members sold tickets by going ‘door-to-door’ within individual ’rounds’ where they would sell tickets. This was a fantastic way of helping us keep an accurate log of exactly who was a Member, however, things have moved on since then and whilst we do still sell tickets directly to people nearby, we have a whole team of outlets selling our tickets for us.
To make sure we have a record of our members we have set up a form that allows you to enter your details should you wish to join. There is no obligation, if you just want to come along and enjoy the show then we look forward to seeing you at L’Eree. If you would like to enter our competitions without being a member, that is fine, you will need to check our Schedule to make sure you can take part and then purchase a ticket and complete the entry form in our Schedule.
So, what happens when you are a Member? You will have the opportunity to attend our AGM, you can be nominated to join the Committee, and you would be able to vote if we ever needed our Members to do so.
The form is available through the top of our website and asks for minimal details, if we ever need to check anything we will ask you to provide proof that you can be a member and who you are, for example proof of your age or address. You will also need to keep hold of your two-day ticket, so make sure you put that in a safe place! If you don’t have an email address, you can put your information in writing (or use the form in our Schedule) and drop it off at the show using the letterbox at the Committee Tent or post it to us.
We are hoping to launch a newsletter for our Members and you can opt into this when you complete the membership form.
If you have any queries or need to confirm our postal address for your form, then please get in touch using the contact us form.
